Hearts of Oak are set to pay ways with underperforming players as they set to build a formidable side for the upcoming season.

The Phobian Club struggled in the ended 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts of Oak survived on the final day of the season as they fought back to record a 3-2 win against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to finish at the 14th position with 45 points.

As they prepare for the upcoming season, the club is aiming to part ways with underperforming players as they aim to build a solid team for the season.

A source who spoke to Graphic Sports revealed that new players are set to be recruited to beef up the squad for the upcoming campaign.

"Hearts of Oak is set for a major overhaul," the source revealed, adding: "We intend to part ways with underperforming players and build a more formidable squad capable of competing for titles next season."

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will clash with their rivals, Asante Kotoko in the maiden Democracy Cup on July 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
