Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has lauded Jordan Ayew for his superlative performances against Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Crystal Palace attacker came off the bench to net the winner in Ghana's game against Mali in the matchday three games in Bamako before grabbing a sensational hat trick against the Wild Beasts at the Baba Yara Stadium as Otto Addo's side roared back to secure a 4:3 win.

Ayew has come under criticism in recent times due to his uninspiring performance for the senior national team.

However, Agyemang Badu who played with Ayew says the 32-year-old does not need to prove his worth to anyone.  According to him, Ayew remains one of the key figures for the senior national team.

"Jordan Ayew doesn't need to prove his worth to anyone. He has everything when it comes to football," he told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"He has been in the national team for years and has amassed all the experience and he will remain one of the best players for the team and scoring a hat trick against Central African Republic proves his worth," he added.

The wins have propelled the Black Stars to the 2nd spot in Group I with nine points after four games played.

Ghana will resume their qualification games in March 2025 where they come up against Chad and Madagascar.
