English-born Ghanaian midfielder Darko Gyabi put in an impressive performance as Plymouth Argyle secured a commanding 3-0 win against Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup Round 1 on Wednesday evening.

Gyabi, who started the game at Home Park, played a crucial role in midfield alongside former Torquay United player Adam Randell.

The 20-year-old Gyabi showcased his skills with a 91 percent pass accuracy, three shots, 75 percent long ball accuracy, five recoveries, and one interception before being substituted in the 79th minute.

The goals for Plymouth Argyle came in quick succession late in the second half. Ben Waine opened the scoring in the 62nd minute with a close-range shot following a set piece.

Ryan Hardie then doubled the lead in the 81st minute with a well-placed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Ibrahim Cissoko. Mustapha Bundu sealed the victory in the 84th minute with a strike from outside the box, assisted by Bali Mumba.

With this win, Plymouth Argyle extends their head-to-head record against Cheltenham Town to 14 wins, 5 losses, and 3 draws. The Pilgrims will now focus on their upcoming Championship game against Hull on August 17th.
