Asante Kotoko is reportedly set to sign Sudanese striker Karim Abdelrahman in a bid to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

The young talent, currently 19 years old, has been recommended to the Ghanaian club by Sudan national team head coach and Asante Kotoko IMC member Kwesi Appiah, according to a report by Brutal TV GH.

Karim Abdelrahman, who began his football journey with Al-Merreikh, is the younger brother of Sudan national team and Al Hilal striker Mohammed Karim Abdelrahman. Despite being the younger sibling, Karim Abdelrahman boasts an impressive physique and versatile skills on the pitch. A Sudanese journalist, Rahim speaking to Brutal TV GH, described the young striker as "a very promising talent with a strong build, capable of playing with both feet and scoring headers."

After a disappointing season that saw the Porcupine Warriors finish in sixth place without any silverware, the club has shifted its focus towards restructuring the squad for the next campaign.

As part of their rebuilding efforts, Asante Kotoko has already parted ways with eighteen players. Some of the remaining players may be loaned out, while others will be offered new contracts.
