Ghanaian midfielder Mawuli Mensah, a key player for Real Betis Bolempe in Spain, has successfully undergone surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament.

The operation was a success, and Mensah is now on the road to recovery, much to the relief and delight of his team and fans.

"Mawuli Mensah underwent successful surgery yesterday Tuesday at the Viamed Santa Ángela de la Cruz Hospital to correct a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and the external meniscus of his right leg," the green and white club announced.

"The operation has been directed by the Real Betis Balompié trauma team, made up of doctors Muela, Montilla and Ribera . His return to the playing fields will depend on his evolution," the club added.

According to reports in Spain, Mensah is expected to make his comeback in 2025.

In the 23/24 Promoción 1ª Federación, Mensah made three appearances and scored once. He also had an impressive run in the 23/24 Segunda Federación - Gr. IV, where he made 31 appearances, scored eight goals, and provided one assist.

Prior to his time at Real Betis Bolempe, Mensah played for Shooting Stars, where he developed his skills and emerged as a promising talent.
