Hearts of Oak are in negotiations to sign goalkeeper Benjamin Asare from Great Olympics, aiming to bolster their goalkeeping position ahead of the new season.

Asare, who finished the Ghana Premier League season with the most clean sheets, was spotted at Hearts of Oak’s training base in Pobiman on Friday.

Ghana Premier League transfer reporter Mohammed Shaban has confirmed that head coach Aboubakar Ouattara supports the transfer.

Accra Lions’ Andrews Owusu and Dreams FC’s Solomon Agbasi were also targets, but Shaban reports that any move for Agbasi has collapsed.

Hearts of Oak faced significant goalkeeping problems last season, changing over three goalkeepers throughout the season.

Additionally, Asare’s teammate Razak Kassim is still in talks over a potential transfer to Hearts. While nothing concrete has emerged from the negotiations, the club hopes to secure his signature ahead of rivals Asante Kotoko.

Meanwhile, Issah Kuka is set to leave the club, having communicated his intention to represent another team.
