German-born Ghanaian youngster Gibson Nana Adu, a major talent at SpVgg Unterhaching, has been signed by German football giants Bayern Munich for a sum in the low millions, as per an ad hoc announcement by Haching as a listed club.

The transfer was announced on Thursday evening.

However, in a strategic move, Adu will not be wearing the FCB jersey just yet. Instead, he will be immediately loaned back to SpVgg Unterhaching, allowing him to continue his development and gain more match practice in the upcoming series. This arrangement ensures that Adu's growth trajectory remains steady, while also benefiting Unterhaching.

Adu's journey to this point has been nothing short of impressive. Hailing from the youth team of FSV Mainz 05, he joined Haching in the summer of 2022. Last season, he etched his name in the history books by becoming the youngest goalscorer in third division history, a feat he achieved at the tender age of 16 years, one month, and 30 days. Additionally, he is the youngest player ever to have played in the third division. In total, Adu has represented Haching in ten games.

Jochen Sauer, the director of youth development at FC Bayern, has high hopes for Adu. "Maurice Krattenmacher and Gibson Nana Adu are two players with great sporting prospects," he said. "Both represent the good youth development at SpVgg Unterhaching. We trust both players to make their way in professional football."

The transfer also includes bonus payments, which could be triggered by events such as the resale of the player.
