GFA president Kurt Okraku stresses pivotal role of club licensing in African football development

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku highlighted the pivotal role of club licensing in advancing football development in the country during the inaugural day of the Club Licensing workshop in Accra.

The workshop, part of a continent-wide initiative following similar sessions in Mauritania, Algeria, and Ethiopia, aims to update participants on the Club Licensing Online Platform.

It also aims to review the system's implementation within national competitions of Member Associations.

Okraku emphasized the necessity for every footballing nation to adopt club licensing to ensure proper management of the sport.

He stated that club licensing has become integral to the developmental agenda, serving as the cornerstone for creating a sustainable and competitive football environment.

"It is indeed the cornerstone for the development of a sustainable competitive football environment.

"The progress of African football relies on our collective efforts and collaboration.

"Together, we can achieve the goals of the club licensing system and enhance the quality of football across the African continent."
