Cape Verde is set to top Group B at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament at the end of the group stage.
This follows a resounding 3-0 win for the side in their game against Mozambique on Friday afternoon.
In their first match of the 2023 AFCON, Cape Verde locked horns with Ghana and fought to beat the Black Stars 2-1.
Today, Cape Verde faced off with Mozambique in their second group game and dominated the contest.
In a game played at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Cape Verde scored through a thunderbolt strike from Bebe in the 32nd minute to lead at halftime.
After the first-half break, goals from Ryan Mendes and Kevin Pina killed the spirit of Mozambique as Cape Verde won 3-0 to take all three points.
The win means Cape Verde is top of the Group B standings at the 2023 AFCON.
This is the group that contains the Black Stars of Ghana.
