Tamimu Muntari hands Liberty Professionals injury blow

Tamimu Muntari has handed Liberty Professionals an injury blow after hurting his knee during their 1-0 defeat to Ashanti Gold SC on match day nine of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Muntari was stretched off injured early in the second half after colliding with an Ashgold defender.

He was replaced by Abraham Wayo as a result of the injury which disrupted the flow of the visitors at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

Despite the extent of the injury yet to be known, it is likely he would be out for few weeks considering his injury record.

The former Wa All Stars and Mighty Jets winger has endured a torrid time with injures in the past three seasons.

He first picked up a knee injury on the opening day of the 2017 Ghana Premier League which ruled him out for the entire season.

He has made seven appearances for Liberty Professionals so far in this term.
