Performance of Dreams FC and Medeama in Africa doesn’t put pressure on us – Samartex Coach

Samartex head coach Nurudeen Amadu says the performances of Dreams FC and Medeama in Africa do not put pressure on them ahead of their first campaign in the CAF Champions League.

The Timber Giants are set to take on Cameroon’s Victoria United in the first preliminary round this month.

Dreams FC reached the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup last season on their debut in any African competition, while Medeama made it to the group stage of the Champions League.

Speaking about the performances of these two teams putting pressure on them, Amadu says it rather gives them inspiration.

“It gives us inspiration. We have to take inspiration from them [Dreams FC] and then Medeama,” he told 3 Sports.

“What they have been able to do we could also do more or less or at least we should also be inspired to do exactly what they have been able to do or more.”

The first and second leg matches between Samartex and Victoria United in the first preliminary round are scheduled to take place between August 16 and 25, 2024.

Nurudeen Amadu's side will travel to Cameroon for the first leg before returning home for the second leg.
