Nico Williams, the rising star of Athletic Bilbao, has opened up about his strong connection to the team and the ongoing rumors linking him to Barcelona.
In an interview with Onda Cero's Radio Estadio, Williams shared his journey growing up among Athletic Bilbao's stars and his focus on the upcoming Euro Cup.
Williams expressed his gratitude to the Athletic Bilbao players who have watched him grow and supported him throughout his career. He fondly recalled his brother taking him to the locker room during his cadet and youth team days, where he met notable players like Iker Muniain.
"Athletic's stars have seen me grow up and are very proud of me. My brother took me to the locker room when I was in the cadet and youth teams, and that's where I met many players, like Iker Muniain," he said.
Despite the rumors circulating around Barcelona's interest in him, Williams maintained his focus on the Euro Cup.
"Barça's interest?" Onda asked Nico again, who replied that " I've seen something, but I don't know anything . I'm focused on the Euro Cup and nothing else... I'm very happy at Athletic."
