Athletic Bilbao's goalkeeper Unai Simón and defender Dani Vivian were noticeably absent from their teammate Iñaki Williams' wedding on Saturday.
The duo's absence was not a matter of choice, but rather a result of their national team duties.
Unai Simón, who recently renewed his contract with the red and white team until 2029 without a termination clause, and Dani Vivian have been included in the pre-list by Spanish head coach Luis de la Fuente for the upcoming Euro Cup in Germany. The pair were required to join the training camp on Saturday at the Las Rozas Soccer City, thereby clashing with the wedding festivities.
The teammate who had to be present at the wedding was Inaki's brother, Nico. The red and white winger is also among the 29 men De la Fuente has called upon to fight for the continental national team title, which kicks off on June 14.
However, in Nico's case, he was granted special permission to attend the wedding.
