Former Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has credited the success of Sudan in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to the dedication and commitment of his players.

Under Appiah's leadership, the Falcons of Jediane have achieved three victories and one draw, with their latest triumph being a 3-0 away win against South Sudan.

This impressive run of form has propelled Sudan to the top of Group B, accumulating 10 points and placing them two points ahead of Senegal, the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winners.

In an interview with sports journalist Collins Okinyo, Appiah expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance.

Appiah further revealed that he has been able to gather valuable information about their upcoming opponents, enabling him to prepare his team accordingly.

"Whatever I try to show them, they are able to adopt easily.

"The players are doing very well; they are committed. Fortunately, I am able to get some tips on the teams we are coming to play. I let them know their strong and weak areas, and so far, so good.”

Looking ahead, Sudan will face Senegal in their next qualifier, aiming to solidify their position at the top of the group.
