The administrative manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow, shared his excitement on the transfer of Mohammed Kudus to Ajax and noted that the transfer has put a spotlight on Ghana football.

The 19-year-old became the most expensive Ghanaian teenager in history after securing a 9 million euro move to the Dutch giants from Danish side Nordsjaelland.

“The thing about this move [Kudus to Ajax] is it has put a spotlight on Ghana football. It has been so long that Ghana football has enjoyed a positive mileage in the international media," he told Joy FM.

"With this move, it has probably raised the threshold of the value of Ghanaian players. Moves like these are very important. It even raises the level of our national team. Between 2006-2014, the players in the Black Stars that were playing in good clubs abroad was high but that has dropped since then."

Shardow concluded that Kudus' move should serve as an encouragement for clubs in Ghana to produce quality players for the future.

"For me it has been very positive and I hope it serves as a tonic for clubs like Medeama and Dreams FC [to produce good players for big moves].”
