Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey sends well wishes to Danlad Ibrahim following his departure

Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has wished goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim well following his departure from the club.

After a disappointing run in the Ghana Premier League, the Ghanaian giants has now turned their focus towards the 2024/25 season with a major squad overhaul.

As a result, eleven players have been shown the exit door from the club to make way for new additions ahead of the new campaign.

Among the notable departures are the club's captain, Danlad Ibrahim, and Georges Mfegue, whose contracts have expired.

“It was nice having you as a teammate and a friend. Good luck in your future endeavors” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Danlad joined Asante Kotoko in the 2016-17 season and made a significant contributions to the team. He has represented Ghana at various youth levels, including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams and the Black Stars proper.

His accolades include winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2021-22 season, the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, and the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020.

Individually, he has been honored with the Golden Glove at both the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020 and the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, as well as the Ghana Football Awards Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021.

During the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Danlad Baidoo made thirteen appearances for Asante Kotoko.
