Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse have unveiled Ghanaian international Abdul Aziz Yakubu as their new signing in the ongoing transfer window.

The 25-year-old attacker joins the club on a permanent deal weeks ago after ending his stay with Portuguese outfit Rio Ave but his unveiling delayed.

Today, the Japanese club has officially presented the Ghanaian forward to the club fans as their new player and is expected to play a huge role for the team.

The move marks Yakubu’s return to Asia after spending most of 2023 in China, featuring for former champions Wuhan Three Lions

The 23-year-old Ghanaian forward journey at Rio Ave began in 2021/22 and quickly adapted to life at the club.

Yakubu became fans favourite following his outstanding performance for the Rio Ave.

During his three-year stint, Yakubu made 73 appearances, scoring 30 goals across the period for the club.

Shimizu S-Pulse are currently third on the J. League 2 standings with 43 points after 23 matches, just a point behind the log leaders.
