The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has reacted to the allegations that current Black Stars players lack commitment to the country.

According to him, he cannot buy that ideology.

Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, Henry Asante Twum said although he was shocked at how poor the Black Stars played in the game against Niger last Monday in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, he does not doubt the commitment of players.

“I do not buy the ideology that these players are not committed, I've not recovered from the shock. I cannot believe how poor we were on the day and how ordinary the team was in our game against Niger,” Henry Asante Twum said.

In the September international break, Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola before drawing 1-1 with Niger.

The results mean the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON have become slim.
