Hearts of Oak's coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has openly expressed his views on the Ghana Premier League, describing it as one of the most challenging leagues in West Africa.

In an interview with Happy FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com, Ouattara shared his thoughts on the league's competitiveness. "The Ghana Premier League is tough," he said. "You can see that even the two biggest teams in Ghana are struggling to survive. I believe it's one of the toughest leagues in West Africa. It's a good league, and maybe someday, another country could replicate its intensity."

The 2023/24 season was a difficult one for Accra Hearts of Oak. The team had to fight hard to avoid relegation, ultimately securing a 14th-place finish. This marked a season without silverware for the Ghanaian giants.

However, the Phobians are not dwelling on past struggles. Instead, they are focusing on strengthening their squad with new players in preparation for the 2024/25 season.

The team's immediate focus is on the upcoming Democracy Cup, where they will face off against their rivals, Asante Kotoko.
