Ghana international, Alfred Duncan missed out on lifting the Europa Conference League title on Wednesday night when his Fiorentina side lost 1-0 to Olympiacos in the final.

The final of this season’s Conference League was played at OPAP Arena in Athens.

Although Alfred Duncan made it into the matchday squad for the final, he missed out on a starting role.

In the 74th minute when the scoreline was goalless, the former Black Stars midfielder was introduced into the game as he replaced Arthur Melo.

Alfred Duncan after coming on, helped his team and came close to scoring late in the game with a ferocious attempt that went wide off the goal post.

With the game ending goalless at full-time, both Fiorentina and Olympiacos had to fight in extra time for the win.

Eventually, a solitary strike from Ayoub El Kaabi in the second half of extra time propelled Olympiacos to secure a 1-0 win to emerge as Champions.

The victory leaves Alfred Duncan and Fiorentina with a Silver medal.
