David Oduro, the new Barcelona signing, shared his excitement after joining the Spanish giants on loan from Accra Lions.

The 18-year-old left-back is thrilled to be the first Ghanaian player to move directly from his home country to Barcelona.

"First of all I am very happy because getting this opportunity is not easy especially from Ghana here so for me I am very happy. Its a history for Ghana been the first player to move straight from here to Barcelona is a great news for Ghana," he told SportyTV.

Oduro will join Barcelona’s renowned La Masia Academy, where he hopes to impress and secure a permanent move next summer. The talented defender had trials with several top European clubs, including Chelsea and Bayern Munich, before the Catalan club finalized the deal.

Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk also expressed interest in the rising star, but it was Barcelona who won the race for his signature following a successful trial.
