Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba has secured a permanent transfer to UD Almeria, signing a three-year contract after completing a season-long loan from RCD Mallorca.

The move to Almeria was cemented after the activation of an option-to-buy clause in Baba's loan agreement.

Previously, Baba had been a product of Mallorca's youth system, earning his breakthrough to the first team at 22 years old.

Baba played a pivotal role in Mallorca's midfield, notably helping the club secure promotion to La Liga after a seven-year absence.

However, his fortunes changed in the 2021-22 season when he fell out of favor, making just three appearances.

Sent on loan to Almeria for the subsequent season, Baba featured in 25 La Liga matches and starting in 14 of them.

Despite his efforts, Almeria faced relegation to the Segunda División.

Nevertheless, Almeria has opted to make Baba's loan permanent, highlighting their confidence in his abilities.

Internationally, Baba made his debut for Ghana in 2019 and has amassed 29 caps since then.
