Ghana forward Kwadwo Opoku came off the bench to score for Montreal CF as they suffered a crushing 4-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati on Sunday dawn in the Major League Soccer.

The goal was the 23-year-old's first in nine games, ending a long goal drought as he struggles to nail regular playing time.

Opoku came off the bench after the first half break to replace Jules-Anthony Vilsaint.

In the 46th minute, Orellano opened the scoring with a free kick from a short distance, catching Montreal's defense off guard. He then scored again in the 53rd minute with another free kick, this one from further out, after Montreal's Joel Waterman was penalized for a foul.

FC Cincinnati (16-8-3, 51 points) added two more goals from Kevin Kelsy and Sergio Santos.

Montreal (9-27-6, 27 points) managed a consolation goal in the 81st minute when Fernando Alvarez assisted Kwadwo Opoku, who scored past goalkeeper Roman Celentano.

This victory ends FC Cincinnati’s four-match losing streak and marks their first MLS regular-season win since July 6.
