Black Maidens head coach Baba Nuhu says he was not surprised with his side's impressive victory over Senegal in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Maidens defeated the Senegalese 3-0 to advance to the next stage of the competition on a 4-0 aggregate score.
After the goalless first half, Georgina Ayisha Aoyem scored the opener for Ghana in the 49th minute before Princess Owusu neatly placed a rebound at the bottom corner of the post to register the second goal in the 58th-minute mark.
With just a few minutes to end the game, Black Maidens added to the tally through Abdulai Karima as she slotted home calmly to complete the 3-0 thumping.
"I knew my opponents were not going to be a walkover so I was not surprised we played the first half without getting a goal.
"These days women's football is played everywhere and you cannot underrate any team and we can only thank God for the win," Coach Baba Nuhu said in a post-match presser.
The win pitches the Black Maidens against Guinea in the next round of the qualifiers.
