Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo was on target for Sogndal in their 2-1 defeat to IK Start in the Norway 1st Division on Tuesday evening.

The match, which took place at the Sparebanken Sør Arena, saw Sogndal asserting their dominance with more possession, but IK Start was more clinical in front of goal.

The head-to-head record for the teams before the clash was in favor of Start with 8 wins, Sogndal had 4 wins, and 6 draws. Edmund Baidoo started the game and lasted 67 minutes. He scored the opening goal of the match in the 26th minute. Oliver Hintsa won the ball high in the middle and passed it on to Edmund Baidoo. The right winger tried to finish outside the 16-metre area, and the ball crept inside the posts to give Sogndal a 1-0 lead.

However, IK Start fought back and equalized just before the half-time break. A corner was deflected far from Daniel Arrocha, and IK Start was allowed to attack again. Faites Makosso tapped in from long range, Jendal had to pass and Tom Strannegård reacted the fastest to score the equalizer.

In the 8th minute of added time, Sander Sjökvist found an unmarked Eirik Schulze in the box. He was confident in the box and scored the winning goal to give IK Start a 2-1 victory.

Baidoo has now made ten appearances in the Norwaygen 1st Division this season, scoring four and providing one assist.
