Head coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised the fans for their amazing support after triumphing over fierce rivals Hearts of Oak in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors completed the double over their arch-rivals, following a thrilling 3-2 win earlier in the campaign.

The Uganda international scored two brilliant goals as the Porcupine Warriors cruised to a 2-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Mukwala opened the scoring after just eight minutes into the game before sealing victory in injury time to snatch maximum points for the Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking after the game, Ogum expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support throughout the game.

“The fans were amazing. They were very supportive, they were always behind us anytime we had the ball and anytime we do not have the ball I realized that they were calm. We didn’t experience the usual ranting and I would like to thank them”

“They should always be patient with us. Anytime we are playing, they should support us. Even the going gets tough they should stay calm and support us and that is the only way that these players will have the confidence, the determination and the desire to play to win”

The win propels Kotoko into the top half of the table, now in 9th place and further away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak find themselves in a precarious position, sitting 14th on the table, just two points above the drop zone.
