Dreams FC coach Karim Zito says his outfit triumph over Academica do Lobito is just a stepping stone towards their ultimate goal in the CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

The Ghana FA Cup champions prevailed in their third group game against the Angolan club after cruising to a 3-2 away win over their opponent on Sunday at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.

Dreams FC opened the scoring after just 10 minutes into the game through youngster Abdul Aziz Issah but the host responded quickly and grabbed the equalizer four minutes later through Nelo.

Putting up a stellar performance, veteran striker John Antwi scored to restore Dreams FC’s lead in the 58th minute before Gael Aholou Avocevou sealed victory in the 88th minute.

The home team reduced the deficit on stoppage time through Samuel Cachimbombo.

“First of all, I want to say how incredibly proud I am of my boys. They showed immense determination, skills and teamwork throughout the game.

“We faced a tough opponent tonight, but we never lost our focus. We stuck to our game plan and executed it flawlessly”

“This victory tonight is just a stepping stone towards our ultimate goal. We will continue to work hard, improve and strive for even greater success” he added.

Goals from Abdul Aziz Issah, veteran striker John Antwi and Aholou Gael Avocevou ensured Dreams FC snatch an important away win.

The Ghanaian debutants now find themselves with six points, putting them on par with Tunisian side Club Africain and Rivers United.
