Ghana defender, Mohammed Salisu has admonished Ghanaians to have belief in the young players in the Black Stars.

Although there are a few experienced players in the current Black Stars squad assembled for the next two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, most of the players are very young and with little national team experience.

Speaking to the media after the Black Stars’ first training session on Friday, Mohammed Salisu called on Ghanaians to trust in the young players.

He said the team is determined to work hard to win the upcoming games against Mali.

“This game is very important for every Ghanaian. It’s World Cup qualifiers and we know how important for Ghanaians and we have good young players. Ghanaians need to believe in the young players and I think we can do it better. We know it's not going to be easy. Mali has a strong team. We need to train hard and hopefully, we will win the game,” Mohammed Salisu said.

Ghana takes on Mali in Bamako on June 6 before hosting the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10.
