Augustine Ahinful criticizes Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko over lack of proper junior teams

Former Ghana striker, Augustine Ahinful, has criticized Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak for their inability to create formidable youth teams that will feed their senior sides with talented players.

Ahinful says the transfer philosophies of the two clubs are the reason they are struggling at the moment.

Hearts of Oak’s Auroras has been in operation for years now and Asante Kotoko announced last month that they have scouted players for their youth team to begin operation.

Speaking to LUV FM, Ahinful said, “If Dreams FC have a feeder club that they will feed the first team with, why can't Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have very good feeder teams?

“But when players are mature enough, 17, 18, they push them into the first team. We are talking about Asante Kotoko.

“When I look at the background of Kotoko players and I do my own investigation, some second division player, because you see this player and you ask where did he come from? Which team did he play?

“You do your checks and he played for some second division somewhere or third division somewhere. This is Asante Kotoko we are talking about.”
