Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has shared his excitement after leading his outfit to beat Hearts of Oak in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

The victory completes the double for Kotoko over their arch-rivals, following a thrilling 3-2 win earlier in the campaign.

The Uganda international scored two brilliant goals as the Porcupine Warriors cruised to a 2-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Mukwala opened the scoring in the eighth minute, outpacing his markers to latch onto a long ball, and controlling it well before slotting it in for the Porcupine Warriors.

He sealed the win in the 95th minute with a brilliant effort, cutting inside from the left and unleashing a shot that beat the goalkeeper.

Speaking after the game, Ogum expressed joy after completing double against their fierce rivals.

“I’m very happy. Beating Hearts of Oak back to back is not an easy job. I think it’s an honour for this group of players because it’s been a while this thing happened. I’m not very sure of when this actually but it been a while so we are all happy”

“I think Steve made it so beautiful. I engaged him before the game and I think he has lived up to the task. I’m even shot of words”

The win propels Kotoko into the top half of the table, now in 9th place and further away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak find themselves in a precarious position, sitting 14th on the table, just two points above the drop zone.
