Asante Kotoko bids Danlad Ibrahim farewell after ending eight-year spell at club

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have penned a heartfelt farewell to Danlad Ibrahim following his departure from the club after eight-year spell.

The former Ghana youth international is among the eleven players who have been shown the exit door at the club.

After a disappointing run in the Ghana Premier League, the Ghanaian giants has now turned their focus towards the 2024/25 season with a major squad overhaul.

“This is not a goodbye, Asante Kotoko will forever remain your home. Thank you for these eight years of growth and for the success we achieved together. All the best for the future LAGATA as you leave us at the end of your contract” the club wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Danlad joined Asante Kotoko in the 2016-17 season and made a significant contributions to the team. He has represented Ghana at various youth levels, including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams and the Black Stars proper.

His accolades include winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2021-22 season, the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, and the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020.

Individually, he has been honored with the Golden Glove at both the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020 and the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, as well as the Ghana Football Awards Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021.

During the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Danlad Baidoo made thirteen appearances for Asante Kotoko.
