Anthony Yeboah and Sammy Kuffour heroes in Germany - German Ambassador to Ghana

Germany’s Ambassador to Ghana, Daniel Krull, has lauded former Black Stars players Anthony Yeboah and Samuel Osei Kuffuor for their impactful performances in the German Bundesliga.

Krull shared his admiration during an interview with ChannelOne Sports at a watch party at his residence, where Germany crushed Scotland 5-1 in the opening game of Euro 2024 at the Allianz Arena.

Krull praised Yeboah and Kuffuor for their significant contributions to their respective teams.

“I think of Anthony Yeboah, was once the top-scorer of the German Bundesliga, they are heroes in Germany.

“Sammy Kuffour did so many big things in the league for Bayern Munich. They added some important vibes to the German Bundesliga.

“Kuffour had immense fans during his playing days and they are big.”

Yeboah is best remembered for his stints with European clubs 1. FC Saarbrücken, Eintracht Frankfurt, Leeds United, and Hamburger SV in the 1990s. He was also one of the pioneering black players in the Bundesliga.

Kuffuor spent 11 seasons with Bayern Munich, rising from the youth teams to become a key first-team member.

He played a crucial role in Bayern’s 2000-01 Champions League victory and scored the decisive goal in the 2001 Intercontinental Cup, earning the man of the match accolade.
