2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Medeama SC duo Jonathan Sowah and Abdul Fatawu Hamidu named in Black Stars squad for Madagacar, Comoros games

Medeama SC duo, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah are the only Ghana Premier League players named in Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup first two opening qualifying games.

Chris Hughton on Thursday announced a 25-man squad for the two games.

Ghana will host Madagascar on November 17 at the Baba Yara Stadium before facing Comoros on November 21 at Stade de Moroni.

However, Sowah, who earned his maiden call-up ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final round of qualifiers against Central African Republic has made it to the squad.

Hamidu, who also earned a maiden call-up ahead of the Liberia international friendly game has been named in the squad.

The duo played pivotal in their Ghana Premier League success and their qualification to the CAF Champions League group phase qualification.
