Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo left out Nathaniel Adjei and Denis Odoi from the Black Stars' squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The duo has been sidelined due to injury, as Ghana prepares to face Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR) in June 2024.

Odoi, who played a pivotal role in Club Brugge's Belgium League triumph, and Adjei, who has made 15 appearances in Ligue 1 while on loan from Hammarby IF, will not be part of the team for the crucial Group I encounters.

Coach Addo addressed the media at the GFA headquarters, unveiling his squad for the upcoming games. The Black Stars are set to commence their training camp on Thursday at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

Ghana is keen on returning to winning ways, following a mixed start in the World Cup qualifiers. The team currently sits in 4th place in Group I, with one win and one loss in their first two matches. They began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi, but then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.

The qualifier against Mali is scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, with a kick-off time of 19:00. Following that, Ghana will host the CAR at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Securing victories in both games is paramount for the Black Stars, as they aim to boost their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
