The Black Stars urgently need six points from their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic to revive their campaign.

Head coach Otto Addo announced a 26-man squad for these crucial matches on Wednesday at the Ghana Football Association headquarters.

The team will first challenge Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.

This match marks the third round of qualifying for the World Cup set to take place in Canada and the USA.

Four days after the Mali game, the Black Stars will return to Ghana for the fourth round match against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The team aims to secure maximum points in both encounters to bolster their qualification hopes. Ghana's qualifying journey started with a narrow 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi but suffered a setback with a 1-0 loss to Comoros in their second group game.

Currently, Ghana ranks fourth in Group I with three points, trailing three points behind the group leaders Comoros.

The Black Stars must deliver strong performances in these upcoming fixtures to climb the standings and keep their World Cup dreams alive.

Otto Addo and his squad face immense pressure to capitalize on these matches and get their qualifying campaign back on track.
