Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has left out injured Joseph Paintsil out of his Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

The former Borussia Dortmund talent coach announced the squad on Wednesday at the GFA secretariat ahead of the crucial games.

Paintsil has had a lightening start to his spell at LA Galaxy, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 13 games.

Speaking at the presser, the GFA director of communications mentioned that Paintsil will miss the games.

The Black Stars will face Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako in the third round of qualifying for the Canada and USA World Cup.

Four days later, the team will return to Ghana for the fourth-round match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium against the Central African Republic.

Ghana began its qualifying campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Madagascar in Kumasi but lost by the same score to Comoros in the second group game.

Ghana currently holds fourth place in Group I with three points, three points behind leaders Comoros.
