The official draw for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 qualifiers was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday, marking the beginning of the journey towards Africa's most prestigious football event.
The draw was live-streamed from Johannesburg, with the coach of the reigning CAF AFCON champions, Emerse Faé, and Moroccan legend, Marouane Chamakh, overseeing the proceedings. Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion with a title drought of over 40 years, has been struggling in recent tournaments, with lackluster performances in the last two editions.
Ghana has been drawn into Group F, where they will face off against Sudan, a team now led by former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, along with Angola and Niger. The qualifiers are set to commence in September 2024, determining the first 24 nations that will fight for the prestigious title in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2025.
