Ghana coach, Otto Addo has admitted that his side is in a tough group for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) but remains optimistic of qualification.

The Black Stars have been paired with Angola, Sudan and Niger in Group F of the qualifiers for the tournament that will be hosted in Morocco next year.

Reacting to the draw, the 44-year-old trainer who was reappointed in March earlier this year on a 34-month deal says they beleives in themselves but admitted that they are in a tough group but remain adamant about making it to the continent's most prestigious tournament.

"Surely, we believe in ourselves to qualify from this group. But it’s going to be tough," he told the Ghana FA website.

"To begin with Angola, I think they have a very, very good squad. I think they had a good AFCON but went out after losing 1-0 to Nigeria; they did really, really well in that match, I watched it.

"They are actually doing good right now leading their group in the COSAFA Cup and qualifying for the next round. Also in the World Cup qualification games they did quite well, they drew against Cameroon in their last game so they have a strong squad and we can’t take it easy.

"It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be close but like I said I have a strong belief that we can succeed against them," he added.

The qualifiers have been slated to kick off in September later this year.
