Liverpool forward, Cody Gakpo was in outstanding form for the Netherlands on Tuesday when they defeated Romania to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship.
The talented forward started in the attack of the Dutch and led by example to ensure victory was secured.
The attacker equalized to break the deadlock in the 20th minute after he was assisted by Xavi Simons.
That goal separated the Netherlands from Romania at the break before two goals were scored in the second half.
Cody Gakpo in the second half continued to excel and provided the assist for Donyell Malen’s first goal in the 83rd minute.
Donyell Malen would then go on to score a second in added time to seal the emphatic 3-0 win for the Netherlands against Romania.
Following the victory, the Netherlands are now through to the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship.
Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo is now top of the goal scorers chart with three goals at the Euros.
