2023/24 Ghana Premier League: Week 30 Match Preview – Medeama SC v Real Tamale United

Published on: 17 May 2024

Defending champions Medeama are set to clash with relegation threatened Real Tamale United in matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League this weekend.

The host, Medeama, will be hoping to maintain winning run after beating Great Olympics narrowly in an away fixture.

The match will take place at the Akoon Community Park, with the Yellow and Mauve eager to snatch victory to merit the three maximum points at stake.

Medeama have been impressive in their last five games, winning three, drawing one and losing just one across the period.

The Yellow and Mauve are currently fifth on the Ghana Premier League standings with 44 points after 29 matches into the campaign. They are nine points behind log leaders, Samartex with five games to end the campaign.

Coach Nebojsa Kapor’s and his charges chances of retaining the Premier League title looks slim but will approach the remaining games with all seriousness to secure maximum points and await the results in other games.

Real Tamale United, on the other hand, are bottom on the Premier League standings with five games to end the campaign.

However, the remaining matches will be key for Real Tamale United’s survival hopes. They cannot afford to drop points this time if they are poised to retain their status in the Ghanaian top-flight.

The Pride of the North have managed just 28 points from the 28 matches they have played so far this season. This means RTU have averagely picked a point in each game they’ve played.

In their last five games, the Tamale-based club has picked two wins and three defeats across the period.

Having defeated log leaders Samartex in their previous game, RTU will be approaching Medeama’s game with a renewed sense of confidence, as they seek maximum points to push them further on the table.
