We are looking for more opportunities to take our referees on international training courses – GFA Referees Manager

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Referees Manager, Alexander Kotey has indicated that the association plans to invest to build the capacities of referees in the country.

According to him, the association is looking for opportunities to take Ghanaian referees abroad for various trainings.

“We are building the capacities of our referees. We are looking for more opportunities to take our referees on international training courses,” Alexander Kotey said in an interview with the Ghana FA media team.

Although there were some concerns with officiating during the 2023/24 football season in Ghana, the performance of referees generally improved.

The expectation is that referees will undergo training in the offseason to up their game before the start of the 2024/25 football season.

All referees suspended during the past season will undergo training by regional fitness instructors before they are cleared to officiate matches.
