Despite being a contender for the top scorer award, Boateng Afriyie's progress was hindered by the injury.

In an interview with Happy FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com, Boateng Afriyie expressed his acceptance of the situation, stating, "Injuries did play a part in my season, but I believe that God has a plan for me. I'm not too disappointed because, despite not scoring as much as I would have liked, I feel my overall performance was satisfactory. I finished among the top six scorers, so I'm content with that."

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak is reportedly close to securing the services of Boateng Afriyie in the current transfer window. The 26-year-old is currently in Accra and is anticipated to complete a medical examination this week before finalizing the deal. If the transfer goes through, Boateng Afriyie will sign a contract that will tie him to the club until the summer of 2026.

In the recently concluded season, Boateng Afriyie netted 12 goals across all competitions for Nations FC, who finished seventh in the league standings.
