2023/24 CAF Champions League: Medeama hold final training session ahead of Al Ahly showdown [PHOTOS]

Medeama Sporting Club held their final training session on Friday evening ahead of Saturday night’s 2023/24 CAF Champions League group stage opener against Al Ahly.

The Ghana champions will take on the Egyptian heavyweights, who are the record winners of the tournament, at the Al Salam Stadium in their first-ever game in the premiere African club competition.

The Yellow and Mauves arrived in Cairo on Wednesday night and will trained for the first time on Thursday even before Friday’s to wrap up preparations for the showdown in Cairo.

The team’s public relations officer, Patrick Akotoko, said they have no injury concerns ahead of the blockbuster in the Egyptian capital.

There is a sense of optimism surrounding Medeama ahead of this game, though they are alos quick to point out that facing Al Ahly is not a joke considering their pedigree in this tournament.

Head coach Evans Adotey says he is not threatened by Al Ahly and has a plan to frustrate them.
